Skipping Fun - Jump Rope for Heart!

We had such fun during our recent Jump Rope for Heart Day!
We had music to skip to and we learn some new tricks to do with the ropes.
Even our teacher got into the 'swing' of it!
Jordan was in the skip off, he really did 'Go-for-it!'

New trees and plants!

How great it has been to receive gifts in the mail from our friend Cayley who is involved with 'Paper4trees'. This is because we found out that last year our school recycled quite a bit of paper and cardboard in our green recycling bins. We also got some more free tress and shrubs from Kitty Waghorn from the Waimakariri District Council! Great, now we can give some to Marian (she works in the office at school) and the rest of them will got to the our 'enviro group' to use in their plan for the school sign! Way to go KBS, we are well on our way to saving our planet!

Gathering Ideas for our school garden

We love our environment, that is why we are keen to do something as part of our community contribution. We have been doing lots of rubbish collecting and weeding and we will soon be planting. We decided that we wanted to do something with the blue fence we have in the school garden so we went down and started discussing our ideas and drafted up some plans. We will be working on this in term 4, keep an eye out for our progress.

Patiki Production
We have been working very hard on our up and coming production "The Final Frontier". All of us are involved in some way and we are very exciting that the time has come to perform in front of an audience.  Some of us have been learning to act, use technology, be creative by making props and learning dances to make this performance an afternoon to remember. This Tuesday 28th and Wednesday the 29th at 1:30pm in our school hall you are invited to come along and view this colourful spectacular celebration of children leading their own learning. A gold coin donation would be appreciated. Come one, come all and sit back and be inspired by our year 3 and 4 children.

See you there!

The Olympics

We were really looking forward to getting into our Olympic Day but sadly the weather washed out the days that were planned for this. We did however have a great Whanau time where we all dressed in our  country colours... FRANCE!

We really like going and spending time with our buddy class  - Studio 8 and Mrs Fairbrother. We helped ice biscuits and they looked like spiders and lady bugs! They tasted pretty good as well!

Life Education VIsit

We really like it when Kathleen and Harold come to visit us. We learnt about Heart Central and got to go on a train ride all around different parts of our body. We only had two visits to the life Education Bus and we wish we had more!

Fridays are GREAT! Jump Jam is always a favourite and DISCOVERY in the afternoon allows us to explore, learn and use our imagination to try new things.
What a beautiful day it was on Thursday to get out and weed our school garden.

We used our Green Thinking Hat to design our own hats to share at Whanau Time on Wednesday. Everyone in Studio 23 came up with original creative hats.
We then performed 'The Silly Hat Store' song in front of everyone, it was fun and we were fantastic!

Yesterday in Studio 23 we had a very special visitor from St John Ambulance. Her name was Rochelle and she had lots of great things to share with us. We learnt about the colours of the emergency services and what they all do. The emergency services are St John ambulance, Fire Brigade and the Police. Kaleb, Brooke and Adam got to wear the jackets that St John people do during the lesson with Rochelle. We now know what to do if there is an emergency at home, just ask us and we will be able to tell you!
